We have no elected government, nor are we likely to have one, so I address you with no greater authority than that with which liberty itself always speaks. I declare the global social space we are building to be naturally independent of the tyrannies you seek to impose on us. You have no moral right to rule us nor do you possess any methods of enforcement we have true reason to fear. Governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed. You have neither solicited nor received ours. We did not invite you. You do not know us, nor do you know our world. Cyberspace does not lie within your borders. --John Perry Barlow

"Most Americans have no idea that what we are fed by the news media is nothing more than a portrayal of what powerful corporations want us to believe, that what happens to pass as education is as often as not mere propaganda, that what we learn in church may have very little or nothing to do with the truth, that what our parents teach us may be nothing more than an accumulation of their own personal biases, no doubt a rather subtle modification of what they were taught by their parents. And through such a process, governments and nations around the world wield control as to what their citizens, believe, value, and do." - Doug Soderstrom

"Americans are wonderfully courteous to strangers, yet indiscriminately shoot kids in schools. They believe they are masters of the world, yet know nothing about what goes on outside their shores. They are people who believe the world stretches from California to Boston and everything outside is the bit they have to bomb to keep the price of oil down. Only one in five Americans hold a passport and the only foreign stories that make their news are floods, famine, and wars, because it makes them feel good to be an American. Feeling good to be American is what they live for. " - Brian Reade, London columnist

-Will Colombia’s farmers defeat the economic hitmen of the agricultural industry?
Early in September, 2013, the Colombian government was forced to partially concede to the demands of a nationwide general strike instigated by farmers of the largely agrarian nation. The three week long protests and blockades that shut down much of the nation were supported by thousands of miners, truckers, students, bus drivers, and Colombian citizens, blocking roads and clashing with police.
Close to 650 arrests were made, 485 injuries were reported, 12 people killed, and over 600 cases of human rights violations reported. Coverage of the nationwide protests feature rural peoples and urban demonstrators in the typical contest against body-armor clad, state riot police armed with gas, rubber bullets, flash-bang grenades and batons, beating people and dispersing women and children in clouds of smoke.

My congressman fair?

October 2, 2013

Dear Friend,

Thank you very much for signing up for our eNewsletter. It is an honor to serve as your Representative. I wanted to give you this update on the ongoing partial shutdown of the federal government.

As many of you know, portions of our federal government were shutdown on October 1, 2013.  These unfortunate circumstances were forced upon us after Congress failed to pass a budget or continuing resolution funding the government before the October 1 deadline.  Mandatory aspects of our government that are funded in advance are not affected.  Social Security and Medicare are safe. Congress passed legislation ensuring our military and the civilians that support them will continue to be paid.  I have voted to pass legislation that will protect our veterans.  I have also voted to open national parks and monuments so that World War II veterans will not have to be concerned with breaking the law in order to visit the memorials that commemorate the sacrifice of those who served to protect our nation.

The House of Representatives has voted three times to responsibly fund the government while making changes to the unpopular Obamacare. First, we voted to fund the government with a full defunding of Obamacare.  The Senate said no.  Next, we voted to fund the government with a one year delay of Obamacare.  The Senate said no. Finally, we asked that we treat Americans the same way we treat unions and corporations, and voted to fund the government with a one year delay of the individual mandate in Obamacare.  The Senate said no. We voted a fourth time, asking the Senate to negotiate with the House so that we can settle our differences and fund the government.  The Senate refused to even come to the negotiating table.

I have run a business since I was 20 years old.  It did not take me long to figure out that, to become a successful business owner, one must be willing and able to negotiate.  This shutdown plays with the lives of Americans and hardworking federal employees, and the refusal of the President and Senate leadership to negotiate with an entire chamber of Congress is not only frustrating, it is neglecting the will of the American people that desire us to come together to find common sense solutions.  The situation facing us now remains fluid, but it is my hope that Congress and the President can come together to responsibly fund the government and make the necessary changes to Obamacare that ensures all Americans, including Congress, are treated equally under the law.

Also, I believe business owners should be the last to get paid.  Until Congress responsibly funds the government and the furloughs are ended, I will return my paycheck to the Treasury.
To remain up to date on the shutdown and my work on your behalf in Washington, D.C., be sure like my page on Facebook   and follow me on  Twitter .
Thank you,

Markwayne Mullin

The Real Crisis Is Not The Government Shutdown

Paul Craig Roberts

The inability of the media and politicians to focus on the real issues never ceases to amaze.

The real crisis is not the “debt ceiling crisis.” The government shutdown is merely a result of the Republicans using the debt limit ceiling to attempt to block the implementation of Obamacare. If the shutdown persists and becomes a problem, Obama has enough power under the various “war on terror” rulings to declare a national emergency and raise the debt ceiling by executive order. An executive branch that has the power to inter citizens indefinitely and to murder them without due process of law, can certainly set aside a ceiling on debt that jeopardizes the government.read here
