A nation can survive its fools

Diplomacy is the art of saying 'Nice doggie' until you can find a rock.

Good judgment comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.

Ten men in our country could buy the whole world and 3 billion can't buy enough to eat.

When you get into trouble 5,000 miles from home, you’ve got to have been looking for it.

The Democrats ran on 'Honesty' and I told 'em at the time they would never get anywhere. It was too radical for politics. The Republicans ran on 'Common Sense' and the returns showed that there were 8 million more people in the United States who had 'Common Sense' enough not to believe that there was 'Honesty' in politics.

We are the first nation to starve to death in a storehouse that's overfilled with everything we want.

This country has come to feel the same when Congress is in session as when the baby gets hold of a hammer.

I don't belong to an organized political party, I'm a Democrat.

So when all the yielding and objections is over, the other Senator said, "I object to the remarks of a professional joker being put into the Congressional Record." Taking a dig at me, see? They didn't want any outside fellow contributing. Well, he had me wrong. Compared to them I'm an amateur, and the thing about my jokes is that they don't hurt anybody. You can say they're not funny or they're terrible or they're good or whatever it is, but they don't do no harm. But with Congress — every time they make a joke it's a law. And every time they make a law it's a joke….

Little Debate About Afghan War in Election Campaign
Gareth Porter: Afghan war a failure, yet there is little debate about why and what to do next

Shadow Banking and Conventional Banking Depend on Government Support
Jennifer Taub: I think we need to look at the banking system and say: if our government is providing support, either through the FDIC or through the Fed, which when it engages in printing money obviously affects the economy and the value of goods and services, if a bank has that, they obviously are—this is a government banking system.

Everything has changed. America has lost its way. Casting a ballot for one silver-spoon CFR plutocrat over another accomplishes nothing. That's not democracy. It's a fraud….

These are the issues the pseudo-news and infotainment industry will not frame, are not going to frame, obviously because they really don’t care about you, they only care about controlling your behavior, there job is to no longer report the facts, but to increase shareholders wealth. You are not a shareholder, you are their ultimate financers.

Since we no longer control the electoral vote we can control the electors with our dollars, buy nothing, boycotts change oppressive regimes. Historically, boycotts have proven to be the only tool the greedy understand, hit them where it hurts the most….their bank-account.

Support and encourage local merchants to support local and regionally produced necessities.

Resist shock doctrine by culture jamming. Recognize consumerism.

Listen to an honest assessment from a creditable news source.

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague.".... Marcus Tullius Cicero (Ancient Roman Lawyer, Writer, Scholar, Orator and Statesman, 106 BC-43 BC)
