The law changes and I don't. How I stand vis-à-vis the law at any given moment depends on the law. The law can change from state to state, from nation to nation, from city to city. I guess I have to go by a higher law. How's that? Yeah, I consider myself a road man for the lords of karma. ~ Hunter S. Thompson

"I'm fed up to the ears with old men dreaming up wars for young men to die in." - George McGovern

"They wrote in the old days that it is sweet and fitting to die for one's country. But in modern war, there is nothing sweet nor fitting in your dying. You will die like a dog for no good reason." - Ernest Hemmingway

This 'Controversy' Is Ridiculous! Pearl Jam Singer Criticized For Anti-War Statements

"Evacuate to Where?"

The deadliest

I remember this day 1984, no one spoke of this then as being a 'terrorist' incident':  A gunman massacred 21 people and injured 15 others at a McDonald's restaurant in the San Ysidro section of San Diego, California.

This '84 incident and the 1991 Lubys incident were then quickly swept under the rug and forgotten. The lubys mass shooting was the most deadliest until

  1) Vaginia tec

 2) Sandy Hook

3) Lubys

I remember in college back in the early 80's (maybe 1982),  my social work instructor told us at a time when, there was a large stigma attached to hiv/aids, the disease was finally being scrutinized after rich white folks started dieing:  'if we did not know or were kin to anyone with the disease we most assuredly would by the end of the the decade'. Frighten me because I would be working and caring for these individuals and she was true to her word.  I knew folks that had it, were dieing of it and just plain afraid.

Today i can confidently proclaim the same with gunshots: That if we do not know anyone who has died from a gunshot or disfigured from a billy club we will by the end of the decade. And prolly the police are the active shooters/killers.  50 cops shot some bank robbers and killed a civilian yesterday......I will just say that as a soldier i would take a bullet for an innocent......unlike the cowards we call protectors here, wanna be soldiers. Hey guys if your goal is to go home every night then pick another line of work, we pay you to take bullets for civilians not beat or shoot them.

Sadly, three days later in '84 after San Ysidro i knew someone, my mother took her own life........gunshot to the head
