Avaaz

Avaaz: activism or 'slacktivism'?

Avaaz rallies mass outrage on the internet, via online petitions and email campaigns. But is 'clicktivism' a powerful new form of protest – or a lazy option for people who have failed to engage with the issues?
AVAAZ.org: The World in Action

hey whatever works; become an activist for slacktivism...........I got an issue}{*or two}the couch potato crusade:  possession 20 gram Doritos  bag or 20 of ounces of coke.........a.cola! Six pack = distribution. 2 liter =  trafficking. Tell Bloomberg to stop muscling in on the sugar and fat rackets.

The sugar issue is petty politics compared to the real damage being done to society. Keep our eyes turned away from the true problems that city, aptly named ground zero, has been dealt.  Madison Ave., Wall street is on his turf.....suspend all of pepsico's financial operations, out law high fructose corn syrup....... Let citizens have a say on the local level if he wants to be Nero and dictate. Maybe a fascist tactic to seize the industry for the state of  Manhattan.

On the federal level,  forbid ALL the unrelenting commercial advertisement urging the robotic masses to consume; ban all visual, audio, print, digital ideas that promote or encourage the embracing of unhealthy lifestyles. (subversive brainwashing turns folks into sheaple ie ...conformist)

Activist must strike at the root, quit foolishly hacking at the branches. In short..................stop eating drinking smoking breathing decomposing on others  that do not want to stop doing those things!

Now the state once again gets to choose how we are to die. Education and the free flow of information are the keystones required for society to advance....graciously forward rightfully claiming our place in nature, on earth, in the universe and the unimaginable infinity beyond beyond.....

Exactly what would the sheaple propose, as in what methods are socially acceptable to the State on how we should die.  Let the mainstream media tell you your opinion, by all means refuse to think for the good of yourself and those you love about what is best.  Personally idk when, who , how really..so long as it don't hurt too much. Love makes me happy, I therefore I choose to die of love, and the exact pathology happiness,  to die in bliss,  the state can label/spin the particulars. ducktalk

In the mean while........rejoice for a village of Navaho, ask those brothers how precious the gift ague. How bout that!, thanx prez, the dog kennels at the whitehoue has had running water for nearly three-hundred years!  New Yorkers whine about how much is too much sweet water? when folks here in new mexico are now jest getting 'clean fresh' water? Obama looking for the Navaho vote? Bloomberg looking for the skinny active demography? wtf!!

 Catastrophic Mass Communication Crash
There’s going to be an i-9/11 event. Which doesn’t necessarily mean an Al Qaeda attack, it means an event where the instability or the insecurity of the internet becomes manifest during a malicious event which then inspires the government into a response. You’ve got to remember that after 9/11 the government drew up the Patriot Act within 20 days and it was passed. … So I was having dinner with Richard Clarke and I asked him if there is an equivalent, is there an i-Patriot Act just sitting waiting for some substantial event as an excuse to radically change the way the internet works. He said “of course there is”.

There has never been a time in history when more of our "culture" was as "owned" as it is now. And yet there has never been a time when the concentration of power to control the uses of culture has been as unquestioningly accepted as it is now.

The legal system doesn't work. Or more accurately, it doesn't work for anyone except those with the most resources. Not because the system is corrupt. I don't think our legal system (at the federal level, at least) is at all corrupt. I mean simply because the costs of our legal system are so astonishingly high that justice can practically never be done.

The law should regulate in certain areas of culture — but it should regulate culture only where that regulation does good. Yet lawyers rarely test their power, or the power they promote, against this simple pragmatic question: "Will it do good?" When challenged about the expanding reach of the law, the lawyer answers, "Why not?"We should ask, "Why?"

Show me why your regulation of culture is needed. Show me how it does good. And until you can show me both, keep your lawyers away. We, the most powerful democracy in the world, have developed a strong norm against talking about politics. It's fine to talk about politics with people you agree with. But it is rude to argue about politics with people you disagree with. Political discourse becomes isolated, and isolated discourse becomes more extreme. We say what our friends want to hear, and hear very little beyond what our friends say...........Larry Lissing

.... draft Lawrence Lassig for any cabinet post, or court justice, maybe an education post or something in the FCC (take or make ministry of propaganda and enlightenment Joseph Goebbels  Lassing's job. Maybe he is a cfr mole? but for whom?, richard clark is counter-terrorism expert and war nay-naysayer. Truth...I just know the news and the truth are not the same thing; truth has to be weighed against education, experience, environment and, for some, enlightenment.

Emerson   'What you do speaks so loudly I cannot hear what you are saying.'

Maybe! read these words, watch my lips....38 STATES ATTENTION:  Second Constitutional Convention
